Welcome to Sally Morris Osteo-Muscular-Neuro

Hi everyone!

I can hardly believe it’s been 15 years since I started this journey. Back in 2009 I qualified as a Sports Massage Therapist, in the middle of a global recession, and New Forest Sport Massage (NFSM) was born. Back then, my goal was simple: to build a career I loved.

It was slow progress to start with. Finding a place to work from, getting patients through the door, and figuring out how to run a business – it’s fair to say I didn’t have all the answers, but I did have a lot of dedication, commitment and a strong work ethic. One of the turning points was taking over my tutor’s patients in Eastleigh at Therapeutics when she left. Slowly but surely, I built up my days while still working as a personal trainer. Those were some long days!

One of my favourite stories from those early years was about a patient with neck pain. After three sessions without the expected improvement, a conversation led to a lightbulb moment. The patient mentioned that their father-in-law was “being a pain in the neck.” It was an epiphany for me – how our feelings can manifest as physical pain. This sparked my interest in understanding the connection between mental and physical well-being.

As time went on, I realised I needed more knowledge to help my patients better. So, I pursued qualifications in acupuncture, taping, gait analysis and biofeedback. A friend once told me to get a “proper job,” but I knew I already had one. I was the receptionist, admin, marketer, bookkeeper and practitioner all rolled into one! The best advice I received was to stop treating my business like a hobby.

The journey hasn’t been without its challenges. The COVID-19 pandemic brought everything to a standstill. No work meant no pay. It took a couple of weeks to bounce back, but the loyalty and resilience of my patients were truly amazing. During the third lockdown, I faced a big decision – whether to become an employee with the NHS or to invest in my own clinic room. I chose to invest in my business, and it was the right decision.

In 2022, I became a qualified osteopath, which was a huge milestone for me. But it also meant that the name New Forest Sport Massage didn’t quite fit what my business had grown into. For the past two years, I’ve tried to come up with a name that captures everything I do. I brainstormed, ran into names that were already taken, and found others that just didn’t feel right. I talked to family, friends, and patients, trying to find the perfect fit.

With new qualifications in osteopathy, neurokinetic therapy, and soon to include neuro-integrated systems, I was moving away from just massage. After ten years of studying, I can now help my patients in more ways. Think of me as a translator between your mind and body, helping to sort out the issues that connect the two.

Now, as we celebrate 15 years, I am beyond excited to introduce a new business name: Sally Morris Osteo-Muscular-Neuro. This rebranding reflects how far I’ve come and the comprehensive care I now provide. The new name shows the commitment to treating the whole body, integrating osteopathy, neurokinetic therapy and neuro-integrated systems.

The feedback from my patients has been fantastic. Many have been with me throughout this journey and have seen the growth and evolution of my clinic. This rebranding is all about bringing more clarity and awareness to what I can offer, highlighting my expertise and personalised care.

Building this business has been an incredible experience. It has taught me so much about adaptability, perseverance, organisation and staying true to my path. I’m excited about the future and eager to continue exploring new ways to help you – my patients.

I am so grateful to everyone who has supported me – loyal patients, mentors, friends and family. Your support and encouragement have meant the world to me.

Thank you for being part of this amazing journey. Here’s to the next chapter with Sally Morris Osteo-Muscular-Neuro, where I’ll continue to provide you with the best care on the south coast.

Here’s to another 15 years!
